Short for my grill but easily modified September 28, 2010

This item clearly states in the description, and on the product packaging, that it fits on the Genesis Silver. It does not. As other reviewers have noted, it really is as well short.The body of the basket itself is about 23" long. The brief wire extensions that would mount to the grill lid's bracket make the total length 24 1/4"If the inside measurement of the interior of your lid at these brackets is longer than that, it will not mount. Mine required to be a great deal more like 25" or 25 1/4"As a different reviewer stated, these wire extensions are very easily bent to make the basket fit. They are just steel wire, albeit 1/8" thick, bent a bit beyond 90 degrees. I clamped every end in a bench vise and bent it out to 140 degrees or so. Now the total length is about 25" and it fits perfectly. If you're not interested in a custom mod, don't order this.Now that I have it, I realize that I've in no way truly recognized what to do with it. Buns and rolls tend to get each grease-splattered and dried out up there. Not massive enough or shaped proper to preserve most grilled foods on it soon after cooking. In retrospect, I would possibly just throw away the stock basket and not replace it. Guess I'll have to be creative and come across a good

Great item. I bought the incorrect one -- got a 2002 Genesis Gold C. Believed it would work but it does not. The version that I need is a tiny bit longer and the only spot I have located to order it is by calling Weber -- they do not even have it on their web site.

Had to return this one. It was as well brief to fit and I did not attempt to bend it to fit. Figured that as soon as I bent it, it was mine no matter whether it fit or not. Decided to return it as I am of the opinion that if one thing is sold as a replacement element it ought to be suitable without having possessing to make any modifications. Grill operates fine with no it, so I will just grill devoid of it! Can not say I miss it.

Warm-up rack did not fit my Weber
