I purchased this immediately after my ole' handy meat thermometer broke on the ceramic floor.
It is solidly built, nice quality, but has some concerns.
Initial when utilizing it to check meat, the response time is really slow. This is frustrating considering the fact that the longer you wait with the grill/oven open the cooking temp drops. Secondly, as you wait for the final read, the thermometer itself can get fairly hot to the touch. I nearly worried that the plastic would melt.
Overall it is not the worst. Great high quality, but it's practical use is limited by it's slow response time.
Operates as a single expects. Left alone, the update is a bit slow. But as the directions advise, pressing the 'on' button forces an update. A handful of swift presses gets the existing temp fast adequate. Appears as precise as a further analog tester I have.
The oblong head preserve this 1 from rolling off the table.
