Consumer Testimonials

Hi,
I had been eyeing the Weber Genesis but was reluctant to pull the trigger as I did not like the manage valves taking up shelf space and I wasn't crazy to invest $650. The Ducane 4100 Affinity was the closest grill I could acquire to come close to the Weber in terms of high quality and cooking prowess based on testimonials from many web-sites that have been rather positive. I truly wanted to see it just before I purchased it online but no 1 in my region had one on display.
I ordered it from Amazon and received the grill in 2 days with the Prime membership, assembled it Saturday and utilised it Saturday and Sunday nights.
What I like:
Assembly was fairly easy. This is a heavy grill. I assembled it myself but could have applied a helper to lift the grill top onto the frame (as the manual suggests :) )
Fast Heating - as other people have said the grill gets hot rather quickly. ten minutes with all burners on high with the lid closed and it is at 600 degrees.
Even heating - as other individuals have said the burners are decent superior and heat is evenly dispersed.
Parts fit with each other nicely. Nicely engineered and machined. Gas hose is away from the heat (as a lot as it can be although beneath the grill) and has a lot of length.
The shelves and manage panel are made from some material that is rather simple to clean. At first I believed it looked a bit cost-effective (my last grill was stainless) but I have to say this cleans up in a snap.
Ignitor for each and every burner. I like this a lot - every burner can be lit separately and speedily.
Porcelain burner covers. Steep angle tenting more than the burners - good style.
Cooking space: Had plenty of room for 4 sizeable steaks, 1 lb of asparagus and red potatoes on four skewers. two burners had been on high and two on medium so I could move stuff about.
What I don't like:
Stainless steel cooking grates (though I choose the two to 1 big one particular.) The grill was advertised with a porcelain enamel cooking grate but came with a stainless one particular significantly to my dismay. The stainless has currently discolored, which I knew would happen. Amazon has told me they will adjust the description on their website.
Warming rack. Ironically the warming rack is porcelain BUT, it sits on a couple of thin pieces of metal protruding from the sides of the grill and is not attached to something. Due to the fact I use a lot of the grill space I was hitting it and moving it up and just about off its seating. It does have two holes on every finish so I ended up utilizing a screw, nut and massive washer to attach it to the metal seats - this solved the trouble with it moving. Maybe other individuals don't care about this but I do not like the unfastened warming rack design at all.
Less costly grade of metal. As others have said the superior of the hood and doors is not the similar as the Weber, (immediately after all it is $120 much less) but it is not so thin that one particular would call it low-priced.
With all things regarded as so far I am content with the grill. I looked at all of the possibilities from Lowes, Home Depot and Ace Hardware. If you have the $$$ I'd say give some thought to the Weber (if he %$ placement of the control knobs does not bother you.) On the other hand if you want great top quality and a small less expensive cost, take into consideration the Ducane.

Ducane grill is a awesome grill for the income. Two items they will need to enhance although. 1st, The magnets that hold the doors closed for the storage area are really weak. The doors blow open extremely simply. 2nd, The back of the storage region is open on the best by about ten" which alows rain to get into the grease catcher pan, exceptionally messy. I blocked it off with a piece of flat stock aluminum which did the trick.
Over all a wonderful grill with lots of cooking location and a lot of manage with 4 burners.
