Buyer Reviews

I am cooking ribs on my 22" WSM as I type this. This will be my third time cooking given that I received it a few weeks ago and the outcomes I've been obtaining have been some of the tastiest barbeque I've ever had. The style is terrific, the build good quality is remarkable, the instructions and assistance from Weber - all superb. But following all this "hype" the reason I only gave it 4 stars out of 5 is simply because, as really good as it is, I think Weber has more than-priced it somewhat. I would have expected anything of this size and good quality to be priced closer to $350 or so.
Anyway, the good news is, the key to successful barbeque is temperature control. I threw away money a handful of years ago on a less costly smoker in which it was practically impossible to manage and ruined a few dollars worth of meat attempting. But temperature manage is what makes this unit superb. The WSM nearly feels like cheating. When you get it set, it just appears to keep locked into a extremely narrow temperature range requiring especially small adjustment as it cooks. It's as hassle-free to hold it "locked in" at 200 degrees as it is to maintain it at 325. Nevertheless, there are a few tiny hints and tricks of the trade to cooking on a smoker and barbeque in general that need a small research, trial and error, and discussion with seasoned "pit masters." For this I highly advise The Virtual Weber Bullet web site and The Virtual Weber Bulletin Board. There is a wealth of information there and you can get concerns answered by experts as well as pit master wannabes who are just starting out and studying also.
I would suggest starting with a Weber Smokey Mountain, a high-excellent, uncomplicated to use smoker, rather than wasting money on a less expensive 1 only to recognize later that it really is too frustrating to use and then have to break down and acquire the fine one later. That would be the MOST expensive way to get into barbeque at household.

This new cooker by Weber will quickly turn into a traditional just like the smaller a single has. Good construction and effortless to assemble. As a competition cook that got rid of a trailer mounted offset to go with a couple of these, I gotta tell you how pleased I am. As soon as I got the temp settled in, I did not touch them (I got two) till the pork butts had been performed 11 hours later. I Highly advocate this cooker for knowledgeable smokers and especially for those that are just beginning...
