Consumer Critiques
I believe these mitts are worth the cost, but they are not flawless. Their thumb opening is on the very same plane as the rest of the fingers, which is not how we have them aligned in our hands --at least when we are using our hands to grab some thing. Simply because they are rather stiff, this tends to make them a small troublesome to use.
For the value, this mitt is nicely worth it. I like the way it covers your forearms. A large number of instances I have burned them when putting a roasting rack or skewer apparatus on a massive platter to bring inside, and they slid just sufficient to touch my forearm. It does wise. This mitt eliminates this slight mishap. It also eliminates wincing when adjusting hot coals or adding charcoal to the fire or when obtaining close to the fire to flip or move whatever you are cooking. It is a heavy duty mitt of decent bulk and good quality. It fits my hands (I bought two) just fine and does not materially hinder my handling of barbecue utensils or cooking racks. I have no challenge with its thumb as others have mentioned. I need to admit even so, that I would not try to wear them whilst selecting up compact to medium plates. Hope this helps.
